    Thanks! These are very helpful and you present it very well. What are the numbers on each phonetic spelling? I’ve heard there are pitch variations for different meanings – should we be mindful of this?

    @PeggyTeachesChinese – Merry Christmas lao shir peggy
    good to see you posting this very timely video greetings. hope to see more christmas songs

    my comment for your followers “theres a saying that religion is an expression of ones belief” that is why when you believed that theres no God you are just expressing that you are not convinced enough to confront your own doubts. well, theres no point of argument on this because the more you deny truths about God the more you affirm his existence.

  17. MissHairycherries on February 9, 2012 at 3:27 am

    Hi, Um I’m not learning Chinese but I have 2 friends who where adopted from China 2 years ago and I want to write “Merry Christmas” in Chinese on their presents but I can’t find a good tutorial, do you think you can do one?

  18. BlazinNSoul on February 9, 2012 at 3:59 am

    Geez when did this become a history lesson lol. Hey Peggy you should like put out an audio CD. I love watching your videos of coarse but that way I could practice while in my car. I get pulled over by the cops and say Merry Christmas in Chinese haah. I wonder what would happen hmm. Well no, now that I think about it that is not good idea but that would help out a lot.

  19. DarkHypernova on February 9, 2012 at 4:15 am

    I don’t celebrate christmas for the birth of christ, I see chirstmas as a beacon of hope then mankind have to potential for worldwide peace. That we humans do have good in us. That everyone just celebrate christmas for their own reasons shows we all connect. Just as seen in this video, most people just want to spend christmas with their loved ones, family or friends. That’s what we really celebrate on christmas; the most wonderfull gift we have: the capacity of love and peace.

  24. Batmanmg on February 9, 2012 at 7:34 am

    @worldtravel101 historians are not arguing… theists with no Good reason vs historians are arguing. the reason there is a Christmas is because the Catholic church wanted to make sure its religion was accepted in Rome so they renamed a bunch of their “pagan” holidays. same thing with Easter and various other holidays. The religious early American settlers (Puritans, Calvinists, Lutherans) knew this very well and shunned the whole idea of Christmas and those who celebrated it as heathens.

    Yahoshua (Jesus) the Christ was not born on December 25, as many Christians have been taught to believe. Scholarly research on the subject shows he was born on or around 1 Tishri on the Hebrew Calendar – the first day of the Hebrew Civil New year – which at that time, corresponded to about September 29 on the modern Julian Calendar.

    @AlanS181824 No. Death in Japanese is “shi.”
    Death = 死
    Four = 四
    Yes, they both are pronounced as “shi,” but “yon” is the more common way to say four.
